Here's a Nummech "Swift" AxePro body machining process. I made a special anti-vibration camera mount which allows great perspective of the milling from start to finish. The video shows the external cuts made to the top/left/right, which creates an "unmilled blank" that is ready to accept cosmetic milling. Once the blank body is ready, it remains in the machine while the final cosmetics pattern is applied to it.
The body shown is serial number NAXP-032. Congrats if you own this body, because seeing your own marker become fabricated from start to finish is extremely rare! Body numbers 032 and 037 are shown at the end of the video.
Notes for machining nerds:
When filming this video I modified the tools and process to run without coolant. We typically cut the workpiece moderately faster while using tools that drench the entire area in coolant, but I removed as much of it as possible in order to film most of the process. I didn't show any of the earlier cutting for the same reason; the body's bottom requires a lot of tiny details that can't be ran dry, and the main bores require specialized drills that cannot be ran dry. In the future it may be possible to create a complete video but only if the marker body doesn't have such tiny details! In the meantime enjoy this timelapse!
