Brian Baldinger - 49ers Got The Worst Matchup

He breaks down why Seattle's Cover 2 shell defense is impossible to penetrate, how they sit 10-12 yards deep even on 4th-and-1, and why there were no holes to throw into. The Seahawks' formula under Mike McDonald is legit, and teams haven't figured it out yet.
Looking ahead to the Eagles, Baldinger explains why this is such a brutal matchup: The 49ers have just 20 sacks in 17 games (they don't have pass rushers), Jalen Carter will line up over Puni all day, and Vic Fangio's defense knows how to pressure with inside linebackers coming downhill at Brock. Plus, the 49ers' biggest weakness — stopping the run — goes up against Saquon Barkley, who "still has 60-yard runs in him."
Baldinger's formula for the 49ers to win: Kyle Shanahan needs to coach a ball control game, limit the Eagles to 8 possessions, control the clock for 34 minutes, and hope Philadelphia has a couple of their league-leading three-and-outs. The defense can't win this game — the offense has to carry them.
