February 10, 2021 - Vero Beach, FL While spending time at Disney's Vero Beach Resort we rode our bikes on the local Jungle Trail and, which led us to Pelican Island and the first US wildlife refuge!
The Jungle Trail wasn't much to talk about. It was flat, filled with potholes and not very scenic, although there were a few spots of beauty. The real win was with Pelican Island and the Centennial Trail.
Although it was a short trail, .75 miles in length, it was packed with history. From butterfly gardens to a walkway made up of planks depicting the parks of the US National Park system. It was inspiring to see the large number of parks scattered throughout the country and the year they started. After following the path, we were rewarded with spectacular views overlooking the park. This little jewel was well worth the walk.
