We spent several weeks working on our Hanse 531, main tasks were to replace all through hulls with composite ones, remove forward heads, antifoul and take a look at draining the rudder of water and repairing osmosis on it.
Our first holiday aboard required a 30 mile motor sail to our home sailing club, Marconi SC, just off Osea Island on the river Blackwater. Not before we had to replace our throttle and gear cables.
An early start home to pick up an alongside motor back to burnham, bringing Fia’s parents boat home which had engine issues, we got back to the marina and promptly replaced our washing machine which needed a full strip down and rebuild inside the bow cabin.
