SANDY & LUNA DYNAMIC DUO! 🐦 SANDY'S NEW TOE ID MARKER! JACKIE & SHADOW DEFEND NEST! FOBBVCAM 5.23.26

Sandy & Luna share some BFF time together with gorgeous closeups of our Dynamic Duo! Sandy is on the left and Luna on the right. Sandy is 7 weeks old today and Luna will be tomorrow morning! They are growing up so fast now and are almost completely feathered. They have become best buddies just like Sunny & Gizmo! ♥

Shadow & Jackie have to defend their territory and nest again from the ravens & go off chasing them at 03:25. We can see from both of the cams, that they are also chased by the ravens - it is quite the high speed chase going on! Both Jackie & Shadow return to the nest - Sandy & Luna are imprinting all these raven and hawk threats and will be prepared to chase them off in the future too.

Sandy & Luna share beaky discussions while Shadow is perched on the front porch at 08:50. With zooming, our beautiful family together with the lake in the background is breathtaking!

We also have a new ID marker for Sandy - there is a dark spot (probably dirt & fish juice) on Sandy's right foot above the middle talon (seen at 10:10). This is more than likely just a temporary way to tell Sandy from Luna but it is a good ID marker for now. Sandy also has a gape (yellow lip lines) that have a slight curve whereas Luna's gape is straight. Sandy is still bigger than Luna and has a bigger head & neck. Luna will emit a loud squeak when she does a PS (poop shot) - Sandy is pretty quiet with a PS but has on occasion also emitted a quiet squeak like Luna.

Sandy will hit Jackie with a PS directly at 13:18 & Luna will get up and do a squeaky PS. Sandy does some wingers & hops and then Luna will also do a direct hit on Jackie with a PS at 15:13. Poor Jackie! She is coated in poop shots all over! She will need a good bath and rain shower to get it all out once Sandy & Luna fledge! Thank you for watching!
