Blanka Mazimela has curated the latest Africa Gets Physical album, Volume 3, which is due for release this summer, but before that come the first EP taken from it.

Cape Town's Blanka Mazimela has appeared on the label a number of times in the last couple of years. His ‘Phezulu’ track was a big tune on Get Physical that also got some standout remix treatment, helping make him one of the standout crop of African's the label has been showcasing. His upcoming compilation will be further testament to that, and is littered with superb singles like these.

SKJ features on 'Ziduli Zetafa', the opening track and one that immediately sinks you into a brilliant South African house vibe, with its earthy drums, gentle tribal chanting and lush melodies all soothing the soul. 'I Made Mistakes' calls on the vocal work of Korus and ups the ante, with a more propulsive, driving house groove. Sci-fi effects take this one into another dimension but it still has perfectly thoughtful and emotive chords underneath the heart swelling vocals. Last of all is Blanka Mazimela feat. Korus & Sobantwana with 'Gcwanini', a skipping afro beat with heart aching vocals and melancholic chords all making a striking impact.

This is a transportive house EP full of flavour and a fine taster of the upcoming album.
