London Fire Brigade's report on the 2024 Spectrum building fire in Dagenham states that ignited combustible objects led to flames spreading up the building, as well as the timber scaffolding boards around it. It has not been possible to determine the exact cause of the blaze or whether it was started accidentally or deliberately, the report added. It is estimated that the building will take 7 years to rebuild - whilst leaseholders continue to pay their mortgages.
