Mask off the area. It's a piece of regular paper.
Drip alcohol inks onto the gel plate and blow with a straw to create a splatter effect. Leave until dry.
Remove paper, add a layer of acrylic paint and place your printing paper on top. Apply a heavy book and allow it to dry for 30 minutes before pulling the print up. This is the background layer.
To the now clear gelli plate, add a thin layer of acrylic paint and quickly apply the laser printout of the Plague Doctor. Apply gentle pressure and leave for 30 seconds before pulling up. Allow the image left behind to dry fully.
Side note: Use a LaserJet and not an InkJet, it’s just regular computer paper, run it through the printer twice to build up the toner.
Reverse paint the Doctor with acrylics and allow to dry.
Apply a wet layer with gel medium mixed with a little white acrylic. Carefully lay down the background image on top of the gel plate. Add that heavy book again and leave to dry for 40 minutes.
Pull up the final print, but hate it and proceed to mess with it for an hour using more acrylic paint and some markers.
Upload it to your socials synchronized with that song which hit you right in the feels 9 years ago during a season finale and continues to provoke more waterworks than chopping onions in a windstorm. Oh, Jax.
