You will need:
Boiled Field beans / Val beans: 1 cup
Chopped onions: 2
Chopped tomatoes: 2
Chopped coriander leaves: 2 tbsp
Curry leaves: 6 to 8
Coriander powder: 1 tbsp
Chickpea flour / besan: 1 tbsp
Garam Masala Powder: 1 tsp
Red chili powder: 1 tsp
Garlic-ginger paste: ½ tsp
Jeera / cumin seeds: ½ tsp
Haldi / turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
Salt (as required)
Preparation:
Soak Val beans for 12 hours / overnight
Boil Val beans in pressure cooker till 4 to 5 whistles
Drain the water and keep the boiled val aside

In a pan, add oil (3 tbsp) and let it heat
Add jeera / cumin seeds (1/2 tsp) and let them splutter
Add chopped onions (2) and saute
Add pinch of salt and mix well
Saute, cover and cook till onions turn translucent
Add chopped tomatoes (2), curry leaves (6 to 8) and saute
Add haldi / turmeric powder (1/4 tsp) and mix well
Add garlic-ginger paste (1/2 tsp) and mix well
Add pinch of salt, oil (1 tbsp) and mix well
Cover and cook for 5 minutes till tomatoes become soft and mushy

In a mixing bowl, add coriander powder 1 tbsp), red chili powder (1 tsp), garam masala powder (1 tsp), water (1/8 cup) and mix well
Add chickpea flour / besan (1 tbsp) and mix well
Make sure no lumps are formed
Keep aside the masala slurry aside

Saute tomatoes intermittently
Cover and cook till tomatoes turn soft and mushy
Once tomatoes become soft and mushy, add masala slurry and mix well
Add val beans and mix well
Add salt (as required), water (1 medium cup) and mix well
Cover and cook for 5 minutes till the gravy thickens
Stir intermittently
Cook for 5 minutes till gravy thickens
Add chopped coriander leaves (2 tbsp) and mix well
Remove from flame
Transfer to a serving bowl
Val beans Curry is ready
