Moonee Valley Quilt Project

Описание: We are pleased to launch a cross-generational art project, the Moonee Valley Quilt Project, which has seen three diverse groups collaborate to celebrate the artistic expression of local children.

With the help of the Essendon Quilters and the Aberfeldie Men’s Shed, the artwork of 183 children from the 2016 Moonee Valley Festival has been immortalised in 11 colourful quilts.

The quilts demonstrate the diversity of images that make up children’s views of the world.

Each quilt includes a square representing the creativity and dedication of the quilters and the enthusiasm of the Men’s Shed to lend a hand building the wooden hangers.

The quilts will be rotated around various Moonee Valley childcare centres, kindergartens and libraries.

The Essendon Quilters ‘Quilts for Others’ group have made quilts for hospitals, community agencies, kindergartens, sports clubs.

They are currently planning for a range of quilt projects for a range of community service agencies including women’s refuge and nursing homes.
