But their girls weekend gets derailed when they a family dispute compels them to bring their four rowdy nieces and nephews along. Beach Floaty Thingys is an ode to vacations gone wrong, and playful exploration of the inconvenience of involuntary caretaking.

|ABOUT THE FILMMAKER|
Amina Sutton is a filmmaker and producer based in Brooklyn. Her films use satirical humor to explore social and political friction. She started her career producing live comedy shows around Boston and New York. In 2020, she wrote, starred, co-produced, and co-directed the short film THE PRICE OF CHEAP RENT, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film received the Outstanding Directing Award at the TIDE Film Festival and won the People’s Choice Awards at the 2021 Standing Rock Film festival. In 2022, she directed two episodes of a web series called UNDER THE INFLUENCER for a new streaming platform called Kold Open. Her film BEACH FLOATY THINGYS (2024), received support from the Adrienne Shelly Foundation, Rooftop Films, and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
