Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Fred Clausen, a former fighter pilot, recounted his personal experience during a recent UAP/UFO conference: In 1980, while on a mission, he encountered a UFO, and upon returning to base, the military confiscated the footage captured by his aircraft's gun camera.
Clausen then addressed the 1996 Varginha UFO incident in Brazil, claiming that in January of that year, a U.S. cargo plane took off covertly and entered Brazilian airspace without permission from local authorities. The aircraft allegedly landed, loaded "unusual cargo," and flew to an undisclosed destination.
He outlined the kinds of bureaucratic and logistical records—such as flight manifests, fuel logs, maintenance reports, and communications—that such an unauthorized operation might have generated. Clausen estimated that roughly 30 to 40 American personnel would have had direct or indirect knowledge of the mission. He urged anyone with information to step forward and share what they know, emphasizing the importance of transparency on these matters.
