Event Horizon Isn't Evil. It's Worse Than That

Описание: Event Horizon is one of those horror films people can’t stop arguing about.

Some viewers call it Hellraiser in space. Others call it cosmic horror. Some insist the ship is a portal to Hell, a limbo space, or a mass hallucination.

And none of those interpretations is stupid. However, I think Event Horizon is disturbing for a deeper reason: the ship doesn’t behave like something typically evil, at least as far as we know it. Instead, it behaves like something non-aligned, that refuses to communicate or be interpreted, and destabilizes the crew’s ability to know what’s happening at all.

This video explores Event Horizon as a film about epistemic collapse: the breakdown of shared reality, explanation, and meaning.
