Christopher Huie: Astronaut and Virgin Galactic Aerospace Engineer

Описание: IgnitedThinkers had the immense honor of interviewing a very special space champion, Christopher Huie!

Christopher Huie is an astronaut, aerospace engineer, and inspirational international speaker. Christopher has been with Virgin Galactic since 2016, Richard Branson’s human spaceflight company, and has contributed to the company in a variety of impactful ways. His contributions to the emerging commercial human spaceflight industry include six years of leadership in the Flight Sciences External Loads Engineering discipline, supporting both the design and operation of the air-launched Spaceflight System.

As a Mission Specialist on Unity 25, he played a key role in Virgin Galactic's final test spaceflight, paving the way for the first commercial spaceflight mission, Galactic 01. A Jamaican American, Christopher is among the first 650 humans to venture into space, the 19th Black astronaut, and the 1st Jamaican astronaut.

As you can see, Christopher is a visionary leader, paving the way for the next generation of diverse aerospace workforce. Today, I am so excited to learn his journey navigating the aerospace industry. Welcome, Christopher; thank you so much for taking time to inspire the next generation of aerospace leaders.
