Ziqi Liu leads us in a further exploration of Kähler geometry.
We begin this talk with some equivalent definitions of Calabi-Yau manifolds; we focus then on Calabi-Yau threefolds and analyse their connection with string theory. We then study some early attempts to formulate mirror symmetry, then passing to homological mirror symmetry.
