Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, on Tuesday held the second day of pre-budget consultations with key government departments ahead of the upcoming Budget Session of the J&K Legislative Assembly, beginning on February 2.
As Finance Minister, the Chief Minister chaired detailed discussions with departments including Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, School and Higher Education, PWD (R&B), Mining, Industries & Commerce, and Labour. The meetings focused on reviewing sector-wise progress, budget utilisation, ongoing projects and future developmental priorities.
CM Omar Abdullah stressed the importance of realistic, outcome-oriented and people-centric budgeting, with special emphasis on healthcare, education, social security, road connectivity, industrial growth and youth employment. He also directed departments to ensure timely project completion, transparency and efficient service delivery.
The consultative process, involving senior ministers and top अधिकारियों, aims to finalise a growth-oriented, inclusive and balanced budget for Jammu and Kashmir. The remaining departmental consultations will conclude on January 22.
