There are many great players who helped integrate Pro Football. George Taliaferro is often forgotten or overlooked for his contributions in this area. He was the first black player drafted in the NFL(1949). He was also the first black starting Quarterback in the modern day NFL, starting for the Colts on November 22, 1953. He also threw the first TD pass by a black player in the modern era.
He also threw 33 passes in 1951for the New York Yanks. Did he play QB some that year or did he throw those passes from the HB position?
