Описание: One of the main challenges for a client who needs to urgently leave the country is to complete the biometrics appointment. Typically, the biometrics appointment notice is issued 2-4 months after the I-131 application is filed with USCIS. But in urgent travel situations, the client is not able to wait several months before leaving the country. In this video, Joseph reviews how we have traditionally expedited the biometrics appointment, recent changes to the policy, and action steps to take moving forward.

Many people have urgent reasons to travel, whether it is to visit a family member facing a medical emergency or to attend to an urgent business matter. But for those who have pending green card applications, or green card holders who need to be outside of the U.S. for more than 1 year, they must first apply for the I-131 travel document in order to safely leave the country without jeopardizing their legal status. The COVID-19 pandemic has further complicated the situation by causing long processing delays or canceling biometrics appointments.
