Cholent/Chunt/Hamin Jewish Slow Cooked Stew Recipe
Cholent was developed over the centuries to conform with Jewish laws that prohibit cooking on the Sabbath. The pot is brought to a boil on Friday before the Sabbath begins, and kept on a blech or hotplate, or left in a slow oven or electric slow cooker, until the following day. Cholent originated in ancient Judea, possibly as far back as the Second Temple period, and over the centuries various Jewish diaspora communities created their own variations of the dish.It is a traditional Jewish Stew

Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs large red potatoes, peeled and halved (for a smaller slow cooker, use 2 lbs)
2 1/2 lbs #5 foreshank beef stew meat or brisket, cut into chunks (for a smaller slow cooker,lbs)
2 marrow bones
1 cup chickpeas beans
1 cup navy beans
1/2 cup wheat or pearl barley (optional - for gluten free, do not use pearl barley)
1 whole garlic cloves
6 or more eggs (optional)
1tsp black pepper
1 cup chicken broth
1 tsp kosher salt
2 tbsp paprika
