Описание: The Virtual Furry Museum is a world in VR Chat that anyone can visit for free, either in VR or on Desktop, to view contemporary anthro artwork and study the history of the fandom. 6 months in the making, it is now released to the public. The museum features over 320 pieces across more than 40 artists and 13 countries, including 2018 Megaplex Guest of Honor Panda Paco, 2023 Anthro New England Guest of Honor Hearthfox, and 1980 Grammy Award Winner and Official Disney Fine Artist Jim Warren. Other artists of notability include fandom artists Thanshuhai, Shoutmilo, Dingoroo, Remy Wolf, and Kanizo. Notable contributors include one of the founding members of the Cartoon Fantasy Organization, Co-Director of the first Furry convention Confurence, and star of The Fandom documentary, Mark "Sylys Sable" Merlino. Exhibits on display include The Golden Age of Mascot Platformers, Ancient Egypt, Feret Studio's abstract Babka series, and Kiaun's sci-fi gallery. 3D avatars on display include Jzody's Grinlin reimagined into a digital gladiator by famous world creator MyroP, ShadeTheBat's Awtter (with assistance from Fooma), Ghost Cabbit's Freakhound, and MikeDaBird's Avigen. The museum also houses a number of interactive exhibits, including a basketball half-court in front of BeanieCapPrints' Grand Theft Otter Block Party, and a document viewer at the History of the Furry Fandom exhibit, including the very first Fursona ever created (Ken Cougar, by Ken Sample), the very first furry convention conbook and discussions page from Confurence, 1989, maps of Furry Muck, 1990, by William Haas, APAs including select pages from Vootie, 1977, the cover of the very first issue of Rowrbrazzle, 1984, and more.

Artists gave explicit permission to feature their pieces for museum display and reserve the right to pull out at any time. The art in the museum has been faithfully restored and presented with bicubic filtering and high quality BC7 texture compression, and shown with advanced shaders mimicking real surface detail, including sharpening for cleaner lines, and channel-packed optimizations. A VR museum at this level of detail and quality dedicated to anthro art and members of the furry fandom has never been curated or presented like this ever before. All are welcome within these walls to learn, play, and be inspired.
