This video lecture series offers an introduction to Private International Law from a Swiss perspective.
Part I provides a definition of the notion of Private International Law (which is also referred to as Conflict of Laws), presents the relevant regulations, namely the Swiss Code of Private International Law, the Hague Conventions, and the Lugano Convention, and explains what Private International Law is all about, i.e. the issues of (i) jurisdiction, (ii) the applicable law, and (iii) the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements.
