This is my simple and effective process to getting any knife sharp. You really only need 3 steps:
1. Coarse grit belt to create an edge
2. Medium grit belt to refine the scratch pattern and minimize the burr
3. Stropping belt to deburr
If you're not getting a sharp knife, these are some common issues:
Inconsistent angle
Too much pressure
Did not create an apex (spend more time on step 1)
Did not remove the burr (spend more time on step 3)
