In 1987, Shinichiro Yokota made his way to the neon-lit Tokyo ward of Shinjuku to battle it out in the All Japan DJ contest. The golden age of American hip hop was saturating Japanese radio at the time, and aspiring turntablists would congregate at these events with imported vinyls to scratch and mix competitively.
Hotel and Shinichiro Yokota join forces for this special remix collaboration, bringing together their unique sonic perspectives to reimagine "Drama" in an entirely new light.
This release showcases the synergy between Hotel's forward-thinking production style and Shinichiro Yokota's legendary touch in house music. The result is a track that bridges classic house sensibilities with contemporary electronic innovation. The forthcoming "Drama (Shinichiro Yokota Remix)" marks the first collaboration between the two artists, ahead of a run of co-written tracks set for release in 2026. It serves as the lead single from Hotel's upcoming 2026 remix EP, Motel, which will feature contributions from Jex Opolis, St South, and Enrico Mantini.
