Описание: Yes, I have the fig love problem, it is a problem that I will hopefully overcome soon. I want to know what figs will grow and thrive here in zone 8b desert. I am starting with about 50 fig starts. I have killed multiple figs trying to start them with various approaches. I thought I would keep track of what is working and what is not working based on the research I have done to grow these starts. These were all placed on a heating mat set at 79 degrees and I made some adjustments each week based on growth or lack of growths. Most of these starts were purchased from Profig and Fig Hunters. Some are from figs I already have, but not well established.

Soil:
Soil is about 50% coconut core, 10% rice hulls, 40% vermiculite and perlite. I also added some mesothelium to help jump start the rooting. I mixed it all in a 5 gal bucket and then added 1 gal of water to the mixture to not make it too wet or have it too dry.

Hormone:
Some of the varieties I added liquid growth hormone, some with the dry hormone. I also removed some of the bark to expose the cambion layer, some I did nothing and just straight up placed in the mix.
Watch all of the videos, I will post one each week to update what survives and what dies, updating on how they are watered, when to up pot, and what to do if they start dying..... I have nothing to lose so I will just try things out and see what works.
