Just one week after having liver transplant surgery, Cleveland Browns legend Bernie Kosar is expected to be discharged from the hospital today.
University Hospitals will hold media availability around 3 p.m. to allow Kosar the opportunity to give a statement upon his release. His surgeon, Dr. Zoe Stewart, and the president of UH Cleveland Medical Center, Stathis Antoniades, plan to give remarks as well.

In a message posted to his social media Monday morning, Kosar said he’s “blessed to be getting discharged today” and is appreciative “of all the support that’s carried me to this point” just in time for his birthday on Tuesday.
3News' Lindsay Buckingham also received the following statement from the family of Bryce Dunlap, who was the liver donor:
“We are so happy for Bernie being released so he can continue to recover in comfort. We truly believe that Bryce is looking down and is so proud that he helped a Browns legend. And that is what is getting us by. Bryce was an amazing boy with the biggest heart."
