.Using a Vee block with no external clamp allows you to work on the four sides as shown, but you can also work on a fifth. As i say in the video the job in hand could have been done any number of ways and certainly I would normally use a 5C collet in a square block or more likely a Spindexer, but not everybody has the kit. It should be remembered that this Vee block was designed in the Fifties, or maybe earlier, when home shoppers did not have access to cheap Chinesium import collet systems.
