Despite the complex global situation, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center continues to receive and administer intellectual property (IP) and technology disputes under the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Rules.
In this webinar, jointly organized by AIPPI and WIPO, the speakers discuss current trends in the use of mediation and arbitration to resolve IP disputes, including the WIPO Center’s recent experience regarding the use of technology for meetings and hearings and online case management tools such as WIPO eADR, the referral to mediation or arbitration of IP cases pending before national courts, and the impact that the Covid-19 crisis may have in terms of contractual issues (e.g. delays in reaching milestones, minimum royalties, etc.) on which the parties might find beneficial to use WIPO mediation or expedited arbitration rather than to litigate.
