തിരുനെൽവേലിയിൽ പോയാൽ ഹല്വാ കഴിക്കാതെ മടങ്ങരുത് എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് ശരിയാണോ?
If you're in Tirunelveli, everyone says you MUST try Iruttu Kadai Halwa. But is it really worth paying extra? In this video, we explore Tirunelveli Temple, taste the famous Iruttu Kadai Halwa, compare it with Santhi Sweets, and finally try what locals call the best biryani in town – Kasi Vilas Non-Veg Hotel!
During our Tamil Nadu trip exploring Thenkasi and Tirunelveli, we visited the iconic Nellaiappar Temple and stepped straight into the legendary Iruttu Kadai shop just outside the temple. We also tasted Santhi Sweets halwa to compare the richness, texture, and flavor.
Is Iruttu Kadai really superior? Is it worth the extra ₹100?
After the halwa tasting, we walked to Kasi Vilas Non-Veg Hotel, widely recommended as the best biryani restaurant in Tirunelveli. Their Tamil Nadu style mutton biryani — where rice and mutton are cooked together — has a unique flavor and texture that stands apart from other styles. We also explored their non-veg dishes and Tamil Nadu style meals.
തെങ്കാശിക്കടുത്ത് ഇത്രയും വെറൈറ്റി മട്ടൺ വിഭവങ്ങൾ കിട്ടുമെന്ന് കരുതിയില്ല! This hidden roadside restaurant serves some of the most authentic Tamil Nadu style mutton meals you will ever taste. If you love traditional, bold, spicy South Indian non-veg food, this place is a must visit!
While travelling from Thenkasi to Thirunelveli, we stopped at Pavoorchathiram for lunch based on a recommendation from our Instagram friend Zubin (kiddy_vlogs). Pavoorchathiram is a busy market hub near Thenkasi where traders from Kerala and Tamil Nadu gather to buy and sell fresh vegetables and fruits. Nearly half a century ago, this small restaurant started serving hearty non-veg meals specially for these hardworking market traders — and it continues the same legacy even today.
