Avesta Krylbo - Örebro C [TDV0029]

Описание: Join me on a journey from Avesta Krylbo to Örebro Central on an early spring morning. The snow is gone but the temperature has still been below freezing during the night.
The line from Avesta Krylbo to Frövi was opened in the year 1900. Avesta krylbo already had lines towards Storvik, Uppsala and Borlänge and to accentuate its growing importance as a railway junction the old station building designed by Adolf Edelsvärd was replaced with a new one designed by Folke Zettervall. The station building in Avesta Krylbo is a mighty piece of architecture and well worth to take an extra look at if you happen to be there.
Folke Zettervall (1862-1955) was chief architect for the Swedish state railways 1895-1931. His father, Helgo Zettervall, is considered to be one of Sweden's foremost architectures of the 19th century. He made sure that his son, Folke, received a solid education as an architect. In 1890 Folke was employed by the state railways under chief architect Adolf Edelsvärd, who he replaced 5 years later.
Folke Zettervall drew all station buildings along the line from Avesta Krylbo to Frövi and you can see the kinship in the architecture from the smallest one in Dagarn via the buildings in Karbenning and Skinnskatteberg to the large one in Fagersta and finally the massive building in Krylbo.
From Frövi to our final destination Örebro Central the trains had been running since 1857 and the station building in Örebro, designed by Adolf Edelsvärd was finished in 1862 the same year as Zettervall was born.
