Join me as I kayak out to two very different islands in the middle of the Long Island Sound in the Bronx, NYC. I first stopped at the privately owned Rat Island, which is New York City's only privately owned island and it was very interesting to see. I then paddled out to Hart Island, which is known as a mass burial site. Over 1 million bodies are currently buried on Hart Island and it is completely off-limits to the public with special exceptions. Since I was unable to land on the island, I circumnavigated the entire area and explored from just off the shoreline. This video offers a rare, up close and personal view of a place that many people don't get to see.
