India’s Aircraft Safety Under Scanner as Technical Faults Rise

Описание: India’s aviation safety is under serious scrutiny as government data presented in Parliament reveals alarming figures. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, 50% of audited aircraft were found to have repeated technical faults.

Between January last year and February 3, audits were conducted on 754 aircraft operated by six scheduled airlines. Out of these, 377 aircraft showed recurring mechanical issues. IndiGo had the highest number of aircraft audited, with 148 out of 405 aircraft found with repeated defects. The Air India Group, including Air India and Air India Express, recorded an even higher ratio, with 191 out of 267 aircraft reporting recurring technical problems.

These revelations come at a time when concerns over aircraft safety and operational reliability are growing across the country.
