Something I've wanted to do for a very long time, is fly the famous Alaska milk run, serving small cities and towns along Alaskas Southwestern coast. Today we will be starting in Seattle, heading to Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau and finally Anchorage. While these milk runs have been flown on the -400, -700, -800 and -900 in the past, in todays video we're trying Alaskas newest aircraft, the 737MAX9. If you've been following the aviation industry, you will know that the 737MAX has proven to be quite a problem, initially with MCAS, but additionally, the emergency exit door plugs fitted on this exact type of aircraft. Airlines like United and Alaska don't operate these aircraft with their maximum intended passenger capacity, so the mid-rear emergency exits can use plugs instead. These plugs were found to be fitted wrong when an Alaska 737MAX9 was forced to make an emergency landing after one of these doors flew off, resulting in the grounding of all Alaska and United 737MAX9's. This video was recorded in July 2023, so a number of months before these faults were discovered.
