A Global History of the African Diaspora

The African diaspora began as an involuntary movement of Sub-Saharan Africans to Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Over time these communities developed into a societal structure, bringing cultural, political, and social influence to their lands of settlement and also generating change within the African homeland.

This lecture explores local and world history to show the influence of the African diaspora in the modern world, highlighting key examples of their experiences from the Maghreb to the Middle East.
