It is almost a rule that if someone has heard of the Warcraft series he also heard about Arthas Menethil and the Lich King. Seeing that the peak of WoW was in Wotlk it isn't just the gameplay that was great during that expansion but also the lore.

Throughout Warcraft 3 we followed Arthas' rise from a prince of Lordaeron to the Lich King. We uncovered the plague and Kel'Thuzad, we purged Stratholme, we helped Arthas take Frostmourne, betray his father and ultimately we played with Arthas as he took over the Frozen Throne and became the Lich King. However, let us analyze why this story was so excellent and why the current Shadowland storyline and the Jailer is such a stark contrast when compared to this iconic character.
