Nearly 200,000 people have signed Change.org petitions to President Barack Obama to pardon Netflix’s “Making A Murderer” subjects Steven Avery and Brendon Dassey in the death of photographer Teresa Haibach. According to the petition, the Netflix documentary provides clear evidence that the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department of Wisconsin used “improper methods to convict both Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey” and the that the justice system “embarrassingly failed both men, completely ruining their entire lives.” Avery and Dassey were convicted in March 2007.
