Do you feel a restlessness you can't explain? A sense that you were made for more?
In this sermon, we explore the story of Zacchaeus and discover what it means to have a "hungry soul." This tax collector wasn't just short in stature—he represents all of us who feel spiritually small, weighed down by the cares and distractions that block our view of Christ.
But here's the beautiful twist: Zacchaeus thought he was searching for Jesus. He climbed that tree to catch a glimpse. Yet when their eyes met, he discovered that Jesus was already looking for him—and wanted to stay at his house.
As we prepare for Great Lent, this message invites us to stop filling our emptiness with distractions and instead embrace the holy hunger that leads us home.
Key Insights:
✦ What Zacchaeus's "small stature" reveals about our spiritual condition
✦ How the "crowd" of noise and distraction blocks our view of Christ
✦ Why desire must be proven by action—even if it looks foolish
✦ The stunning truth that Jesus is already seeking you
Scripture: Luke 19:1–10

🙏 Weekly Challenge:
1. Fast from the noise. Silence your phone for 10 minutes daily. Let yourself feel the hunger of your soul and offer that restlessness to God.
2. Climb your sycamore tree. What spiritual discipline have you been avoiding? Confession? Morning prayer? This week, take the risk. Climb the tree. Gain a clearer view of Christ.
"And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature." — Luke 19:3
