Mercedes Benz 2009-2012 ML350 ML500 ML63 GL350 GL450 GL550 R350 R500. Intermittent no crank, no start. All of the Mercedes vehicles listed above have a known problem with the Electronic Ignition Switch not recognizing the key resulting in a no crank situation.
When you put the key in the ignition switch absolutely nothing happens at all. No dash lights, no sounds, nothing. The ignition switch does not recognize that you inserted the key.
