What’s up guys! In today’s video I show you how easy it is to replace the plastic OEM power steering fluid reservoir with a billet aluminum power steering fluid reservoir by @bevinsee
My biggest complaint with the OEM housing, was over time it became stained and I could not properly read the fluid level in it. Bevinsee’s reservoir isn’t susceptible to staining due to it being made from billet aluminum. What Bevinsee did, was add a little viewing port so you can always see the fluid level/color at a glance and see the high and low level ranges when the fluid is cold or hot. Bevinsee also improved the original design by adding a baffle system to help separate air from the transmission fluid you put in your reservoir. The original design doesn’t have a baffle system, but having one prevents air from entering the system and causing issues.
While I replaced the reservoir, I did a full fluid exchange since it was long overdue. The manual calls for Dexron II or III, but I used Dexron VI as its full synthetic, a little thinner and less prone to breaking down over time due to its nature. Dexron VI can be used in systems that call for II or III but you cannot put II or III in a system that calls for VI. Be aware, that if you have a leaky system with old seals, you may not want to run VI.
