Sleep is often disrupted in Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS), and improving sleep can support brain resilience and the brain’s filtering processes (including the salience network, which helps filter what’s relevant vs not); in this video, you’ll learn why sleep matters for VSS recovery (supporting steadier brain filtering), how sleep works (light → deep → REM and a typical 90–100 minute sleep cycle), how sleep quality is regulated (the role of circadian rhythm/body clock), and practical steps to improve sleep (building a consistent routine, using short naps appropriately, and creating a wind-down routine plus an electronics shutoff time).

ABOUT Dr Sui Wong
========================
Neurologist (MD FRCP) on a mission to inspire a movement for better brain health.
Because better brain health supports better wellbeing.
And better wellbeing creates a ripple effect that benefits individuals, families, communities, and beyond.
Making the world a better place for all.
I am a practising medical doctor (MD FRCP) working as a Neurologist and Neuro-Ophthalmologist, and am an active neuroscience researcher. My research work is inspired by questions arising from my busy clinical practice.
I am grateful that my clinical and research work has been recognised with awards, including the J. Lawton Smith 2025 Award for the most impactful Neuro-Ophthalmology research.
I am also an author and speaker, creating public-facing health content in my spare time.
I started this journey of creating public-facing content because I realised that if the lifestyle tips I shared with people in my clinic consultations had been implemented before they met me, they could have avoided getting sick or been less severely affected.
That is what drives me with this mission: to make a positive impact.
I am here to inspire and empower people with science-backed strategies to improve their brain health and well-being, informed by my clinical experience and research.
Thank you.
