Hey there guys!
So aside from my regular Barista gigs, I have been an avid competitor in coffee competitions, more specifically The Cup Tasters Championship.
It's essentially a game where there are 3 cups on the table, 2 are the same and 1 is different (two truths one lie lol coffee edition). In coffee we call it triangulations. Anyway there are 8 sets of these triangulations you have to solve and the difficulty can range from the slightest differences in varietals, processing methods, and even from one specific farm or region.
Two years ago in 2022 I competed in my first ever Australian National Cup Tasters Championship which I had the privilege of winning and went on to represent Australia in the World Cup Tasters Championships where I ended up also winning and becoming the World Cup Tasters Champion! Crazy right?!
This journey though would have been possible without the help of the amazing folks behind ASCA (Australian Specialty Coffee Association), sponsors and the organisers of the World Coffee championships.
It's a bit late, but I hope everyone around the world gets to see what the Australian vibes are all about!
