Описание: Growing up in Linden, Kennis Fairfax spent his summers on the family farm in Oklahoma. And even though he works in the urban center of the state's largest city, he's still a cowboy at heart. Fairfax, who lives in Westfield, has been showing horses for more than 30 years and still rides almost every day. He's a popular and busy judge now, but it wasn't easy breaking into the elite equestrian world of money and prestige. Know by his college nickname, "Buttons," Fairfax is one of only a handful of African American judges in the country. (Video by Nyier Abdou/The Star-Ledger)
