The Best of Bobby Darin (Capitol, 1966, mono)

Описание: A year after Bobby left the Capitol label, they put out this "best of" disc, which is a little bit of a weird mish-mash. Venice Blue and Goodbye Charlie is here but Hello Dolly is not, for example. And there's nothing here from the Oh! Look At Me Now! sessions or the two Capitol folk albums. In reality, Capitol had enough unreleased Bobby Darin material in their vaults to put out at least five(!) new albums, so this odd collection was a bit strange. One unreleased song did it make it this disc, however: Bobby's sumptuous rendition of Fly Me To The Moon, recorded in its original waltz time shortly before the song was forever associated with Sinatra and Basie's swinging recording, arranged by Quincy Jones.
So, why is the album being uploaded here? Well, this is its mono incarnation, which means it includes the hard to find mono take of That Funny Feeling, and the relatively rare mono mixes of all the other songs. This week's upload contains side one, with side two coming next week (side two contains a much nicer mix of You're the Reason I'm Living). Side one contains The Good Life, Charade, Gyp the Cat, days of Wine and Roses, Treat My Baby Good and That Funny Feeling.
