Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif formally inaugurated the country’s first e-taxi scheme. The first phase of 1100 e-vehicles was launched at the ceremony. 30 percent quota in the scheme is reserved for women. The government will pay 50 percent down payment for male drivers and 60 percent for women. Registration, fitness, token tax and markup will also be the responsibility of the government.
