We're all guilty of handling boards without exercising proper ESD precautions... and of course, we're all aware that ESD (electro static discharge) is a real thing, but what could possibly happen? In this video, I'm going to purposely try and destroy a very common microcontroller (same one used on the popular Arduino Uno boards). I'm looking for the major catastrophic failures, but note that ESD can sometimes only partially destroy something in the part, so who knows when you'll actually see the failure... that's why ESD failures can be the worst of all EMC problems to track down.
