Is a dead standing tree seasoned or dry? Can it be sold as ready to burn firewood? In todays video I used the Stihl MS661 to cut down a dead tree to test it’s moisture content.
After watching my own video afterwards I realized I was working harder not smarter. I cut part way through the trunk of the tree while it was on the ground then I picked it up with the Timber Jack and cut the rest of the way through. What I should have done and usually do is use the Timber Jack in the beginning and make one cut with the tree off the ground…I got wrapped up in making a video and screwed that up.
