Israel 'targets commander of Golan Heights strike'

Описание: Israel says it has carried out an attack in the Lebanese capital Beirut in response to a rocket strike over the weekend that killed 12 youngsters.

The IDF said it had targeted a military commander in the southern suburbs of the city, home to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

Israel said the commander was responsible for the attack on Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The region has been on knife-edge for days over fears of an escalation in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
