2. SOUNDBITE: (English) Mark Shields, Jamaica's deputy police commissioner:
"At the press conference earlier today we reported that the cause of death was inconclusive. Having met with the pathologist, other medical personnel and investigators, there is now sufficient information to continue a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Woolmer, which we are now treating as suspicious. We have already informed the Woolmer family of this development and we are also in close contact with the Pakistan team management, Cricket World Cup and ICC to ensure all parties are kept informed of the ongoing investigation. That's the end of the statement.
(Q: So exactly what does that mean?)
It means we've had, as I said, the opportunity to speak to all of our colleagues to review what we said this afternoon
(Q: How will that affect the Pakistani team and their arrangements, their travel on Saturday)
As far as I am concerned, if that's like one and half questions, it shouldn't have any effect at the moment, we'll continue to review the whole situation.
(Q: Mr Woolmer's body will remain in Jamaica?)
Just for the time being, yes. At the end of the day, it will be a decision of the coroner in terms of the body
(Q: What specifically ..... Sorry what specifically did the toxicology report find?)
The answer to that is I don't know because we still do have any further information in relation to the toxicologist.
(Q: Are you saying Mr. Woolmer was murdered?)
No, I'm not saying that. Why don't we finish? That one last question and that will be it.

We have had the opportunity to speak to our colleagues in relation to the circumstances of his death and therefore having reviewed it, we thought it was appropriate at that time to inform the Woolmer family that the investigation had moved on. At this time it would be inappropriate for me to make any further comment because we still do not have an official final report from the pathologist. And therefore it would not be right to say anything else at this time. But as my colleague said it's very important that we keep you informed. If I make a statement to the family and indeed to my colleagues from the Pakistan and the ICC (International Cricket Council), there is no doubt the press would speculate about what's going on and so therefore I think it's appropriate to keep you informed and I will tell you as much as I can at the time. I think there is an intention, though the time is yet to be set, that we'll update you again tomorrow with any further developments.

STORYLINE:
The death of Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer is being treated as "suspicious," Jamaica's deputy police commissioner Mark Shields said on Tuesday.
The 58-year-old Woolmer was found unconscious in his hotel room in Jamaica on Sunday morning and was pronounced dead after being transferred to hospital.
His death came a day after Pakistan suffered a shock World Cup defeat to Ireland on Saturday, ending its chances of reaching the Super Eight stage in the West Indies.
At a late-night media conference at the team's hotel in Kingston, Jamaica, Shields read a brief statement which said police were now treating the death as suspicious.
