Coral reefs are some of the most essential ecosystems in the world, but they’re also one of the most endangered. To help fight for coral reefs, organisations around the world are developing methods and technology to ensure that these lungs of the ocean have a bright future.

Coral reefs provide habitats, food, and protection to over 25% of all marine species, and support more than 300 million people in communities across the world. With the threats of climate change, ocean acidification, pollution, and biodiversity loss, coral reefs are disappearing at alarming rates. Here in Florida, running from north of Miami to the south of Key West over ___ miles, lies Florida’s coral reef, the third largest Barrier Reef in the world, and only one within the continental United States.
