Relativistic effect Relativtstic effect is the effect which gives relation between size, mass, velocity of electron and the number or protons.
Shielding effect is the application of this effect which describes why there is contraction of s and p orbital and expansion of d and f orbital
Innert pair effect explains the order of stability of different oxidation states down the group , as going top to bottom, s orbital become more closer to nucleus hence unable to give its electron.
