Critically endangered eels return to river

Описание: The critically endangered European eel has returned to upper levels of the River Annan, in the Scottish Borders, thanks to an eel pass installed by Scottish Water.
The specially designed eel pass helps baby eels, called elvers, swim up and over a concrete weir - installed decades ago to serve a nearby power station.
Conservation research, by the Galloway Fisheries Trust, shows the elvers are now manoeuvring up through the eel pass and are able to reach over 670 kilometres of mainstream river and tributaries above the weir.
